For his shoot in Barcelona, JC imagines a future where dolls are no longer simply beautiful: they are intelligent, programmable and fully customizable. A pop, sexy and ultra-glamorous world where perfection is no longer an ideal… but an option. In front of his lens, Viktoriia, Vika to those close to her, a Ukrainian model, undergoes a transformation. Her face is frozen beneath sophisticated makeup, her skin takes on a porcelain finish, and her features acquire the flawless perfection of a Barbie doll. She is no longer quite human, yet not quite a machine either: a 2.0 creature, straight out of a future where humanity is constantly reinventing itself. Then come the barcodes. Each one suggests a new feature to scan, an option to unlock: beauty, seduction, intelligence… and why not love? But in the middle of this entirely artificial universe, one code remains different. It displays two simple words: TRUE LOVE. And Vika becomes Viky True Love. The fantasy is taken one step further: packaging, opening, discovery… JC plays with the codes of unboxing, transforming his model into a true AI doll — as if we were unveiling the must-have product of a not-so-distant future. Yet beneath the pop aesthetic and polished imagery, the shoot gradually becomes something more unsettling. With Viky True Love, JC plays with the codes of beauty, technology and fantasy to imagine a world where almost everything could soon be programmed. Everything… except, perhaps, love.
